I started my midwifery journey as one of the first four midwives to undertake their graduate year at Westmead Hospital in Sydney in their Midwifery Caseload Practice. It was a beautiful way to start my brand new life as a midwife! I was then offered an opportunity to work as a midwife at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, and join the team of a tertiary referral hospital, developing my skills within a higher risk setting across all areas of midwifery, and work alongside many talented midwives and medical professionals.
I really believe that power in birth lies in knowledge, self-confidence and a cracking support team, which is where my passion in midwifery lies, providing accessible, positive, supportive, open and exciting ways to talk about pregnancy, labour & birth, to empower mothers-to-be and their families, and to help women realise just how awesome they really are, whichever path your birth journey takes.
Having recently moved from Sydney to sunny Brisbane, I like to spend my spare time in the sunshine, taking our brand new puppy Luna on adventures to the park and beach, finding new cafes to try on the way and tackling puppy preschool. A little bit of a relaxation also never goes astray, so you’ll find me curled up on the couch with a cup of tea and a new book or video game!
