Following completion of my midwifery education and clinical experience at the Royal Women’s Hospital Melbourne I worked for Northern Territory Health. This provided me with extensive experience in the many facets of midwifery and inspired my passion for culturally safe women centred midwifery. On return to Victoria, I connected with regional/rural maternity care and have been working in public Midwifery Group Practice over the last 8 years.
Community midwifery found me in the early 2000 and I have been an advocate for choice in maternity care through the grass roots development of My Midwives Shepparton/Echuca providing care from the early beginnings to the present day.
My founding premise is nurturing parents to nurture their babies and each other, thereby creating empowered, confident, healthy families. I am passionate about equity of access to one-to-one midwifery care. My role as your primary midwife is to shine the torch on the road map of maternity care so you can determine the direction of your experience through the informed decision making and a trusting relationship.
In addition to growing my teenage boys and researching Global Public Health I relax through regular yoga. Holidays will often find me camping on the beautiful Kiah River in NSW or travelling overseas to immerse myself in diverse cultures and experiences.
