Experience

Midwifery has been a large part of my life for more than 25 years. During this time I have worked in both high and low risk hospital settings, providing all aspects of midwifery care, with an emphasis on birth. From 2006 until 2011 I was privileged to work with many women and their families, providing one-on-one care at the Gold Coast Birth Centre. This included pregnancy care, promoting normal birth, water birthing, use of complementary therapies and developing extensive breastfeeding skills for 6 weeks post-birth. I have been in private practice since 2011 and whilst I love the beauty and serenity of attending home births, I also gain enormous satisfaction from supporting clients to achieve their ideal births within a hospital setting, such as those wishing to VBAC.

Midwifery Interest

I believe each woman, regardless of how complex her pregnancy may be, deserves personalised care from a midwife whom she knows well and trusts throughout her birthing journey. I also believe it is my role to provide up-to-date, accurate information so that each woman can make informed choices. This allows her to achieve the most positive pregnancy and birth experience, whether in a hospital setting supported by her midwife and an Obstetrician, or with midwives at home.

Other Interests

Outside of midwifery I really enjoy weekends in the sun, catching up with family and friends, walking on my favourite gold coast beaches and listening to my musician son perform.
