Experience

I have always worked with families, initially as a nanny when I first left school, then as a Maternity Nurse caring for newborns and families in London.  I studied Nursing as means to get to my real passion-midwifery.  Since 1999 I have worked as a midwife at a major teaching hospital in Melbourne.  During this time I worked in the Team Midwifery model of care as well as at the birth centre.  More recently I worked as a Research Midwife collecting cord blood for research into pre-eclampsia.  Having taken a break from midwifery since moving back to Brisbane in 2013 I am now refreshing my knowledge and diversifying my skills at My Midwives with the goal of becoming a Private Midwife in the future.

Midwifery Interest

I always want to provide high quality, family-centered care in a nurturing environment.  I had incredible and enjoyable birth experiences with midwives when having my own children and I would love to help other people have great options and experiences too.

Other Interests

I have three fantastic kids and I really enjoy all the ups and downs they bring!  I spend most of my spare time in the car, driving to/from school and sports but a hot bath with a good book at the end of the day is my happy place.
