I have worked for many years as a Midwife, Midwifery Educator and Lactation Consultant in a busy regional hospital in Central Queensland, with a small time spent working in Dunedin, New Zealand, as a Core Midwife. In these settings I have provided care across the full scope of midwifery practice for women and their babies. I love being a Midwife!!!

I strongly believe in the benefit of education and information for women as well as midwives.  In 2016, I commenced working as a Private Midwife in Central Queensland – an incredibly satisfying change of direction, one which I am able to continue to pursue with My Midwives, Brisbane North.

Midwifery Interest

A resolute trust in the physiology of normal birth, together with my belief that education and support have an incredibly positive impact for women during their pregnancy, labour and birth, enables me to work ‘with women’, ensuring they in control of their care. In the past few years, I have cared for an increasing number of women who have been traumatised by their previous birth experience…. listening to and acknowledging their journey while providing continuity of care enables many women to positively transform from their previous events.

Other Interests

I love spending time with my family (three daughters) and catching up with what they are doing. Also enjoy getting out ‘in nature’, gardening and  especially hiking in snow covered mountains, but ‘escaping ’with a good book is another guilty pleasure.
