My Midwives Melbourne provides care across a wider area of Melbourne with two clinics – one in Brunswick and one in Epping. Our point of difference is that we are the only private midwifery practice in Melbourne to currently have admitting rights to a public hospital which means that you have an ability to make the choice of hospital or home birth and know that your midwife will be by your side regardless of where your baby is born. Our private admitting rights mean that we are not considered ‘visitors’ into the birth space but provide the hands on birth care in hospital enabling greater choice and control in your care options.

Our midwives understand that this is one of the most important transitions in your life. You are always supported, heard, cared for and respected. My Midwives Melbourne offers a holistic model of care that supports the mother and baby's physical, emotional and social wellbeing. We spend time with you to form strong and trusting relationships. Above all, we strive to ensure you feel informed, safe and confident throughout your pregnancy, birth and beyond.

Would you like to birth in a hospital with continuity-of-care from your own midwife? The My Midwives Melbourne team has private visiting rights at Northern Health!

That means our midwives can now offer one-to-one care to all women throughout their pregnancy, labour & birth and for six weeks after your baby is born. Northern Health has Collaborative Arrangements with My Midwives - These formal arrangements mean you can have your antenatal care with your chosen midwife in the community and receive Medicare rebates*.

At all times during your pregnancy and birth, you will have access to obstetricians and other specialists as required.

You will have the option to birth at Northern Health with your midwife by your side, even if you require medical consultation. You may be able to claim for services from your private health insurance*, however, private health insurance is not essential to participate in this model of care.

We are now taking bookings for women at any stage of pregnancy wishing to birth at Northern Health with their own midwife. Please contact our clinic to organise a bulk-billed information visit to find out more.

*Medicare rebates and bulk billing are available for Medicare-eligible patients only. For details on private health insurance rebates, please speak to your insurer directly
