Experience

As a founding member of My Midwives Toowoomba, I have been providing continuity of care since 2010 to many women, babies and families. This has not only concreted my love for what we do but also allowed me to become a part of a wonderful team helping each individual woman that walks through my door. Prior to graduating as a midwife I specialised in Paediatrics for 5 years and general nursing before this. As a midwife I have worked both in hospital maternity units and private practice supporting and nurturing women through their antenatal, birth and postnatal periods. I have also specialised in childbirth education and keep well informed of up to date information and use this in my everyday practice.

Midwifery Interest

It was only after I had my own children did I truly realise the impact a midwife can have on a woman and her birth. It is for this reason I believe every woman deserves to be supported and nurtured by a midwife throughout this incredibly beautiful and life changing time in her life, regardless of her risk. Being a continuity midwife is a part of my life that is very important to me and something I will never underestimate the value of. So many, many times I have had the privilege of witnessing the impact of the unique bond between midwife and woman has on a family and as such I can never imagine doing anything else.

Other Interests

I am very lucky to have a supportive husband and three beautiful children, all of which bring a complete joy and fulfilment to my life I never would have imagined possible. We love spending time together enjoying the simply things in life, whenever and wherever that may be. Of course life wouldn’t be as fun without family and friends to have a laugh with!
