Experience

Providing continuity of care for mothers and their babies has been my passion and life's work since becoming a midwife in England. I am at my happiest supporting a woman and her family in the homebirth setting and have had the privilege of providing this care in rural UK and New Zealand, and now as a Lead Midwifery Carer here in Toowoomba.

My experience extends over 30 years, and I incorporate these decades of knowledge into my daily practice by supporting my colleagues and encouraging students to grow in this amazing profession.

I am a lifelong learner, and my current studies in The Thompson Method are enabling me to provide research-based education, tailored to each mother and baby, throughout the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods. My ongoing studies will enable me to provide lactation services to mothers and their babies for as long as they wish to breastfeed, further enhancing my scope of practice.

Midwifery Interest

Working in our Toowoomba team has given me the opportunity to empower the women in our care to experience their pregnancy in the most positive way possible. I am a calm and approachable midwife who adapts my practice to support people from diverse cultural backgrounds, sexualities and age groups. My care encompasses both physical and psychological support, and I believe in providing a safe environment, wherever you choose to give birth, to help you achieve the best possible outcome for your pregnancy and birth experience.

Personal Interest

I relocated to Toowoomba with my family in 2021, and we are now creating our forever home here in the region. I keep fit and healthy by regularly walking in Queens Park, swimming, and playing soccer with my grandson. He is much quicker than I am, but we have great fun together! My mission is to continue providing high-quality care to mothers and their babies for many years to come.
