Experience
My journey into midwifery has been shaped by a lifelong passion for caring for women and families during some of life’s most significant moments. Before becoming a Midwife, I spent almost a decade working as an Oncology Nurse in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Saudi Arabia, developing a deep appreciation for compassionate, person-centered care and supporting people through vulnerable experiences.
My own experience of planning and having a home water birth in the UK, supported by an incredible community midwifery team, cemented my belief that every woman deserves a known midwife and genuine choices in childbirth. This led to pursuing a midwifery career and in 2019 I graduated and began working as a registered Midwife at Sunshine Coast University Hospital. I loved my time working with women and families on the coast but was keen to return to Caboolture Hospital where I had worked as a student. Over the past seven years, I have worked across core maternity services there, in continuity-of-care models, including over three years as a Caseload Midwife providing full-spectrum care.
Now I am excited to take the next step into private midwifery with My Midwives team, where I can continue providing relationship-based, holistic, and individualised care that places women and families at the heart of every decision.
Midwifery Interest
I am passionate about continuity of care and believe that trusting relationships between women and their Midwife can transform the pregnancy and birth experience. I have a particular interest in supporting women with complex psychosocial circumstances and those who have experienced trauma, ensuring they feel heard, informed and empowered throughout their journey.
Personal Interest
Outside of midwifery, I love spending quality time with my family, walking our Labradoodles, and catching up over coffee with good friends. I enjoy live music and listening to 80s, 90s, and 00s hits. Much to family’s embarrassment I can often be found dancing like nobody’s watching…..
