Experience
I began my midwifery career as a Graduate Midwife at Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s Hospital at Sunshine and remain there as a casual midwife, caring for many women and babies that need a bit (sometimes a lot) of extra TLC and advanced treatments. I also work at Maryborough District Health Service, a little country hospital providing a continuity of carer model to the community there.
Midwifery Interest
Beginning my career in the middle of the Covid-19 Pandemic was an immense challenge and really cemented my passion for continuity of carer based models of maternity care.
I am passionate that “knowledge is key” and love providing excellent evidence-based education for families to help them gain confidence in preparing for birth and in caring for their newborn baby. Everything is less scary when you know what to expect!
Personal Interest
I am usually running around after my two small children, both of whom were My Midwives babies. When I do have a bit of down time I am usually watching silly supernatural/monster movies, going out with friends for tasty treats, tasting new whiskeys or digging up a new garden bed. I am also a keen baker and enjoy yoga, cycling and kayaking.
