Experience

I began my career in healthcare 22 years ago as a Registered Nurse. After experiencing the most calm and gentle birth of my daughter in 2008 I knew that I needed to learn that magic! For the past 17 years, I have walked beside women as a midwife, supporting them through pregnancy, birth, and the journey into parenthood.

I have experience across a variety of settings including hospital-based care, homebirth, and remote community midwifery in the NT. These experiences have shaped my ability to adapt to each woman’s individual needs while providing safe, evidence-based, and supportive care. I am passionate about building strong relationships with the women I care for, and creating a calm, respectful environment where they feel informed, confident, and empowered in their choices.

Midwifery Interest

My midwifery interests include continuity of care, positive and personalised birth experiences, and advocating for women to feel calm, heard and supported throughout their journey—whatever their birth preferences or circumstances may be. I feel honoured to be invited onto the Alukura/My Midwives MGP team in Mparntwe (Alice Springs) to continue my midwifery journey and support First Nations women in Central Australia.

Personal Interest

Outside of midwifery, I enjoy staying active and challenging myself at the gym, getting lost hiking in the hills or exploring the underwater world via SCUBA. I am happiest hanging out with my Irish wolfhound Albie, or sipping coffee in a comfy cafe with my bestie.
