Experience

After completing my studies I began working as a midwife at Caboolture Hospital and then, to expand my scope into the tertiary realm, commenced at the RBWH in 2021. With a few years of midwifery under my belt, I wanted to continue learning from new environments, people and systems of pregnancy care.

I took some time to work in a small regional hospital in Gisborne, New Zealand in 2022. I witnessed incredible strength and resilience among the community in what was a difficult season filled with several natural disasters. Here I found a wealth of inspiration for my midwifery soul that reinforced my desire to work more closely with families in a continuity model.

Upon returning to Brisbane in mid 2023, I had the privilege to care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families through the Ngarrama Program. Since then, I have been blessed to be able to take a couple of long breaks for some travel and adventure and am prepared for my new venture into private practice.

Midwifery Interest

My passion for uplifting and empowering women and their families has only grown day by day. I am so often awestruck by the strength and power I am witness to in pregnancy, birth and beyond. It is my goal each day to help women to trust in their bodies, and to trust in their ability to safely and confidently carry themselves through the lifechanging journey into parenthood.  Watching families grow again with my first few repeat clients has further solidified my love for midwifery continuity of care.

Personal Interest

Outside of work I enjoy tending to all things green and growing. My next project will be trying to reform a bamboo-filled backyard into a food forest (wish me luck!). I can be easily spotted prowling around op shops for cool antique finds or the basis for a new sewing or woodworking project. I also take almost no convincing to try a new café if there is a promise of good coffee and a good vibe!
